NameOpps.com

NameOpps.com is a marketplace for buying and selling domain names and websites. If you are a buyer, browse through our listings, select domains or websites of interest to you and submit your bid or offer. If you are a seller, list your domains and websites for sale on our site to find a buyer. Listing options include standard auction, fixed price, barter, turbo low price, and listings linked to other auctions or websites.

Auction Types

Standard Auction:
In which bidding raises the price incrementally. The winner of a Standard Auction is the person with the highest bid at the end of the auction. The auction is considered successful if the Reserve Price has been met. If the Reserve Price was not met, the auction is considered unsuccessful and the item owner is under no obligation to sell the item. Standard auctions can have a Reserve Price and use Proxy Bidding.

Linked Auction:
In which the auction item links to another website or URL for a bidder to place a bid or outright purchase the item. It allows you to enter a URL that the bidder or buyer will be taken to when they attempt to place a bid on the item.

Barter Auction:
In which the auctioneer is willing to accept barter offers from bidders. Barter offers can consist of anything the bidder can describe. This could be an offering of some other item in exchange for the auction item. Or it could be an item plus some additional cash offering in exchange for the auction item. The auctioneer is able to choose whichever offer he wants to accept.

Turbo Auction:
In which bidding raises the price incrementally just like a Standard Auction but with a few limitations. The Turbo Auction is meant to encourage bidding activity by interested bidders, since it is forced to a low starting bid ($10), and does not allow a Reserve Price.

Fixed Price Auction:
In which an item is for sale at a fixed price rather than an auction where bidding raises the price incrementally. The fixed price auction differs in that the first bidder to place a bid will win the item and the auction closes immediately.

Listing Details

Category headings created on the site convey broad meaning as to the type of listing. Suggest a new category or sub-category if your listing so requires. The currency of the site is US Dollar and price fields automatically add the $ sign. You can use html tags in the Description field - there is an option to use the WYSIWIG editor or, if you are knowledgeable, can directly embed html tags using the HTML option of the editor. Do not use all caps in the listing title.

If making a Barter Auction listing, in the Description box first mention the domain names or websites that you are offering. Suggested heading can be like this: What I Am Offering. Next, describe what goods or services you are willing to accept in exchange. Suggested heading can be like this: What I Will Accept in Exchange. The approximate dollar value of the offering is shown to give prospective bidders an idea of the size of the transaction.

Bulk Upload

Bulk uploading facility of up to 50 auction listings at a time is available. Links and detailed instructions on creating and uploading bulk listings are given inside the member area. You will have the option to verify and further edit the bulk uploaded listings, if required, before activating them on the site.

Submitting Bids

To submit bids or offers you must be a registered user and logged-in. Your bids or offers are binding contracts. Hence submit them only after due-diligence on your part. Barter bids are submitted not in currency but by offering goods or services in exchange. Hence it is important that you give detailed information about what you are offering to the auctioneer. Vague and incomplete information is not likely to result in a successful transaction or deal. It is up to the bidder should he or she wish to make a cash offer - partial or total - details whereof can be stated in the Submit Barter Offer box.

Listing Duration

Listings are initially made for 30 days and can be set to auto-renew for up to 11 times for 30 days each if the item is still for sale. This gives a total of up to 360 days (about one year) for the listing to remain active without user intervention. The number of times for auto-renewal is selected at the time of making the listing. You can edit the listing (limitations apply) as and when needed. You can certainly close or withdraw it if it is no longer required.

Listing Searches

While one can browse through the listings by category, people often search with keywords and other parameters. An Enhanced Search form is available to filter results based on your specified criteria. While creating your listing, do include keywords for which you would like your listing to be found by others.

User Verification

Verified users have a Verified displayed next to their User ID. You can get yourself verified by sending a $10.00 payment from your Verified PayPal Account. This amount is credited to your account and can be used for paying premium listing fees. Verify Now. Alternatively, you can get verified by sending us scanned copies of one of the following documents: (a) National ID Card, (b) National Passport, (c) Driving License. The sent document must match with your real name registered with us. Send scanned copies of documents to:
Caveat: Verification does not guarantees performance or credibility of the user.

Refunds for Payments

If your listing is refused for some reason, any payment made for that listing will be added back to your account and can be reused. Should you so wish, a refund can be authorized for a refused listing. If for some reason your listing is removed by us from the site pre-maturely, pro-rated refund of listing cost will be made. There is, however, no refund if you decide to pre-maturely delete your listing on your own. This applies to payments made for selected listing options.
